2010 Live Life Villages Art Prize

The Live Life Villages 4th Annual Art Prize winners were announced by Australian Living Legend and Live Life Villages Ambassador, Dawn Fraser at the exhibition held at Brookland Village Community Centre, Robertson.
Brisbane artist, Geoff Hale's pastel entitled "Sandgate Pylons" was awarded the $5,500 Acquisitive Prize from 142 entries by emerging and professional artists and sculptors. Geoff's "Beach Path" was also voted the People's Choice Award during the exhibition.
Live Life Villages Managing Director, Michael Fallon, said "Live Life Villages are pleased to be able to encourage the Arts with this annual award which offers over $10,000 in prizes whilst assisting this year's beneficiary - Meals on Wheels Sunnybank/Salisbury. Activities in this year's 3 day event included a display by talented Multi-Media Fibre artist and teacher, Helen Stumkat, whose innovative creations exhibited her passion and love of natural fibres and textiles. Together with wine tasting by Stanthorpe's Granite Ridge, an interview with 2009 winner Peter Michael Harrington on his works and inspiration, and a hands on display of spinning by Helen and china painting by Brookland Village residents all made for an exciting event.
